Family Smart is a group that is intended for parents and caregivers whose children face mental health and/or substance use challenges.
On February 21 they will be watching a previously recorded webinar for February and will explore connecting with your child when substance use is a concern; strengthening our relationship with our teen and looking for ways we can talk to youth about their substance use without being “shut down”. We use many tools as parents, and we will discuss possible ways we can adapt what we are doing if things are not working.
This webinar is called “Paying Attention: Relationship or Behavior” – talking to youth about substance use (please note this is not about ADHD). Presented by; Mary Anne Crabtree, MSW; Parents Together & Odyssey, Boys & Girls Clubs of South Coast BC and Alexandra Wilson, MEd; School Aged Children & Youth (SACY) Prevention, Vancouver Coastal Health & Vancouver School Board.
Parents and caregivers are welcome and refreshments will be served.
Please let us know if you can attend so that we have enough goodies.
